Retaining
What processes have you found helpful to track and retain your learning?
As an educator, I always must ask whether our students have retained the content they have been taught. As adults working to improve ourselves, shouldn’t we be checking on our learning as well? Learning and relearning is vital to our personal development and growth. Each of us should be aware of the processes that help us acquire information, for improvements. Our habits can help us. How will you plan to retain all the learning you engaged in this week?
People learn through a variety of means, and each person is different. Many people are visual, or auditory learners. Some have better results with hands-on learning, or through actions and movement. Others are simple note takers. What works for you? Is it a combination of things? When we are working on our path to improvement, we will have better results if we utilize the learning methods that fit our style. What processes are you using, and what other methods could you try?
Learning also requires action. We must write it down, file it, or keep a journal of learning acquired. Reading is a valuable method of gaining quality learning material. Taking notes or summarizing the material is so valuable to your growth and the advancement of your dreams. There are so many ways to digitally capture our learning these days. This will help us keep track of things, so we can use them in later situations. Identify a process to gather learned materials that work best for you. You never know when you may need to recall it later.
Location, location, location; it’s important! The advantage we gain in goal development, by having a great location or space for thinking, is key to our success. This space for learning is void of distractions and conducive to engaging our minds. The environment we learn in has all the right materials and energy needed to make ourselves productive in acquiring information. If we are truly trying to get on the right path in life the appropriate location is necessary. Where have you engaged best, for learning and growing into the best version of yourself?
How do you collect and save information you have learned?
What actions help you solidify your learning?
How does location impact your learning?
Process + Actionable Steps + A great learning environment = A better you. It can’t get any clearer than that. If your goal is to retain what you have learned, you must create the best plan for you! I hope you have an awesome week finding everything necessary for you to get on the right path in life. Thanks for checking in, please leave a comment below that will contribute to this conversation.
