Goal Clarity
How are you bringing clarity to a goal you are working on?
Progressing towards goals is something I enjoy talking about, often not giving the time and dedication it needs. Over the course of the past year, the Mastermind groups I worked with have discussed specific goal development each participant would be chasing. Our group shared extensive examples of the steps each of us were engaged in each week. Many of our conversations focused on finding the next steps or clarifying the work we needed to act on. I for one had a great plan to achieve my goal, so I thought. I struggled with following through with specific steps, and found I was more than the facilitator, but also a participant of the Mastermind groups.
The ability to organize your thoughts and ideas into categories will bring the most clarity to your goals. We have great thoughts, for sure. The problem we run into is getting them out of our minds, onto paper, where we can develop them into a goal achieved. The best practice is thinking time, where we allow appropriate time to jot down everything imaginable that we have locked in the vaults of our minds. It is immensely powerful to get things out and clear our heads. When we see these thoughts on paper, we can better prepare ourselves for action.
Speak of your goals as if you have already become what it is you are pursuing. Say what you want, or what you will become. This is a powerful strategy, telling yourself what you will attain well before you even start the processes necessary for acting upon your goals. We will rise to the levels necessary to meet our goals head-on and speaking truth to that, is half the battle. Speaking with a positive outlook and dedication will then be met by powerful actions.
Our environment is particularly important to the success of our goals. How often have we sat in front of the television or our phones, trying to work? I know I am guilty of this. I often speak with others regarding time-to-task behaviors. If we want to author a book or blog, we had better be writing every day. If we want to be a world class painter, we had better be painting or at least drawing every day. Our environment plays a key role in what goals we are pursuing. If I sit in front of my television, I will never finish reading that book. Make sure your environment is conducive to the work necessary for your goals. Our goals do not achieve themselves; we have work to do!
How are you organizing your thoughts and ideas?
How are you speaking truth and expectations into your goals?
What does the environment say about your attention to those goals?
Our ideas are powerful. Speaking truth into our goals is even more powerful, and an environment where we can act, only compound the power we hold to achieve our goals. We must have confidence in our abilities and actions. We can achieve anything with the right ideals, attitudes, and practices. I hope you have a wonderful week identifying the power you hold to meet any goal or challenge. Please leave a comment below that will contribute to this conversation.
